The Maharajgunj superstore that opened on September 2008 marked the begining of the largest retail expansion programme in Nepal. Bhat-Bhateni superstore in Koteshwor, Kathmandu opened on June 11, 2011, Chuchepati, Bouddha opened on July 15, 2011, Krishna Galli, Pulchowk opened on July 16, 2011 and Pokhara, New Road opened on 14 July 2012 A.D. The new warehouse facility in Baluwater has opened in August, 2013 and will enable Bhat-Bhateni to delivery further cost savings to loyal customers.
The 60,000 sq. ft. warehouse section will enhance operational efficiency through centralized purchases and efficient distribution.
The company recently inaguarated 3 more outlets on Sharwan and Bhadra 2071(August – September, 2014). The 3 new locations are as follows;
1. Anamnagar – Opened 31 Sharwan 2071 (16 August 2014)
2. Balaju – Opened 07 Bhadra 2071 (23 August 2014)
3. Kalanki – Opened 21 Bhadra 2071 (06 September 2014)
Similarly Bharatpur and Dharan opened in 2016 where as Butwal opened in 2017
Furthermore, Bhat-Bhateni now planning to expand 2 more stores this year. Construction work has almost completed in Bhaktapur and due to open in July/August of 2017.
Similarly, Biratnagar store are due to open between September – October of 2017. Construction work has almost completed in Bhaktapur.
Mr. Min B. Gurung has truly visionary long-term goals and aim to establish farmer co-operatives in Nepal which is estimated to give employment to 50,000 people in total once the store expansion programme is complete, and is likely to position Bhat-Bhateni as the largest corporate tax payer in the country.
