A huge crowd lined in front of the newly constructed building at Anamnagar on August 16. The traffic was at a standstill as people were on the street with shopping carts filled with items they had purchased. It wasn’t difficult for one to understand that this newly constructed glass building was one of the familiar and favourite shopping destinations of customers in Kathmandu — Bhatbhateni Supermarket and Department Store Pvt Ltd. The supermarket inaugurated its seventh branch at Anamnagar.

Covering an area of 35,000 square feet, the supermarket is filled with varieties of items ranging from everyday grocery, kitchen ware, apparels, shoes, cosmetics and children’s items, among others. According to Min Bahadur Gurung, Chairman and Managing Director of Bhatbhateni Supermarket and Department Store, there are 40,000 varieties of goods with 1,25,000 prices.

Escalators help customers to move up and down making the shopping experience easy and comfortable. Lockers keep customers’ belongings safe while they shop.This four-storied supermarket has various imported goods from all around the world. And do not worry about the parking space as it is ample.

“Well equipped hospitals, schools, shopping centres et cetera are needed for a developing nation. This is why Bhatbhateni was established. Opening its branch in different areas help local customers buy a wide range of items under one roof,” Gurung expressed.

The store will remain open from 7:30 am to 9:00 pm everyday.
